Gronke, MOOCs and Poll worker training

In one of the panel discussions yesterday, my colleague Paul Gronke had an interesting idea:

Election officials might look at how colleges and universities are developing “massive open online courses” (MOOCs) for insights and new ideas about how to produce new, educational and productive poll worker training courses and programs.

I was thinking about this idea last night, and it seems to be very good advice. Much has been written in recent months about MOOCs, so there are resources out there for reference. MOOC efforts like Coursera and edX have been widely publicized.

Credit Gronke for an excellent idea, one that I hope that election officials consider as they think about how to develop new educational materials for their poll workers.
