Survey finds new voting methods could boost turnout

Hold the Phone! A survey in Ireland says that alternate voting methods might increase turnout. From the survey:

44% of non-voters in the research said they did not vote because of difficulties getting to their polling station.

Just over 50% said they would have been willing to use methods like a secure website, a telephone voting service or text voting by mobile phone.

The popularity of these methods rises to 66% among the 18-34 age group.
