More than one week after the elections last week in San Francisco, the hand counting has left them with approximately 14,600 ballots that have yet to be counted. Please, please, please can someone sue the election officials in San Francisco so that they can hand count in the 2008 presidential election? I want to watch that and fortunately there will be A LOT of time to do that. There were 141,858 ballots cast in this election; there were 361,822 ballots cast in the 2004 elections. If they cannot count 140,000 ballots in a week, how will they count 360,000–with more races on the ballot–before the certification deadline in 2008?
