Follow Up about Check Lists and Elections

I received an email from John Tanner, formerly of the Justice Department, about my recent posts about checklists. Tanner noted that checklists are quite valuable and are are required in most of the Department ofJustice’s minority language consent agreements. A list of the agreements can be found at http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/voting/litigation/caselist.htm Specifically, he noted that checklists “make compliance easy by giving the poll workers something more user-friendly than an often very lengthy (and often opaquely written)instructional manual.”
