The EAC recently released some updated info on state HAVA expenditures, “State Governments’ Use of Help America Vote Act Funds 2007.” The report provides a lot of interesting information about HAVA expenditures across the states. For example, a number of states have spent all or almost all of the HAVA funds they have received, including Georgia, New Mexico, Ohio and Utah (Table 2.1). But many states still have a lot of their received HAVA funds unspent, including states like New Hampshire and New York, which have spent less than 10% of their received HAVA funds (Table 2.1). The report also details what the money was spent on by the states.
