Early voting and registration begins in Ohio

There’s been a fair bit in the media about disputes over early voting in Ohio; see, for example, stories from the AP, or the BBC. The interesting aspect of what they are doing this week in Ohio is allowing people to register and cast an absentee ballot during this early registration and voting period (through October 6). This is similar to the process now used in North Carolina, which the NC State Board of Elections calls voting at a “One-Stop Absentee Site” or “In-Person Registration.” It will be interesting to see how many eligible voters take advantage of these forms of convenience registration and voting this fall.
