As readers will guess, since it was Election day here in California yesterday, I was out in the field with students and colleagues studying Election day polling place operations. We concentrated our efforts on Los Angeles County, in particular cities that were within Congressional District 32. After we compile our data and observations, we’ll have a more extensive report about our observation effort.
Here is a photo from one of the more interesting polling places that I visited yesterday, a carpet store in Covina. We visited this particular polling place in the evening, right before the polling place closed. The polling place was in the far rear of the carpet store, in the store’s back room carpet storage area.
