There is a fascinating exchange on the Election Law listserv about detecting election fraud in Iran using statistical methods. At this point, Juan Cole and David Epstein (Columbia), Nate Silver (538), and Walter Mebane (Michigan) are involved.  There is a nice citation in Rick Hasen’s posting to Michael’s colleague Peter Ordeshook (Caltech), who has done some work in this area.  No link to Mike, Thad, and Susan Hyde’s book on election fraud!
