Our colleague from the University of New Mexico, Lonna Atkeson, is receiving a great award from Common Cause New Mexico to recognize the important work she has done to improve elections and governance in New Mexico. The award is the Common Cause New Mexico Jack Taylor Award, and the announcement of the award says that she is receiving this honor “… for her impressive service in the cause of good government in our state.”

Lonna will receive the award, and be a keynote speaker, at Common Cause New Mexico’s 40th anniversary celebration on October 16, 2010.

It’s great to see the work of a colleague be recognized like this — congratulations Lonna!
