According to a story in the LA Daily News, the city is considering a number of changes to the voting system, including new dates, more mail-in voting, and instant run off voting.

It would be pretty cool to see LA adopt some of these changes if for no other reason than the County is such a huge electoral jurisdiction, with bewildering ethnic, racial, and income diversity. When we released our amended 2004 Election Day Survey, we had to make a special category for LA in many of the variables, because it is an outlier in so many ways.
