Alternative Voting Updates

A bill to make early voting easier in New Jersey has passed the Assembly but is currently unscheduled for a vote in the Senate.

A St Petersburg Times editorial is complaining about high turnout related to voting by mail.  It seems that the Pinellas County recorder “aggressively recruited” voters to sign up for permanent by mail status.  The paper claims that voters were “undoubtedly surprised” to receive ballots 10 weeks later.  The paper somehow has the wisdom to know that “uninformed” voters are “hurriedly” returning their ballots right away because they are fearful that they will lose them otherwise.

Vermont is now complying with UOCAVA, according to the DoJ.
